No, you won't be hearing the multi-talented Mr Yuill at Digital Disco, but you can give him a search on Spotify to listen to his fantastic debut album for, as this post is titled, something a little different. Melancholical melodical electronica is exactly what pours out of Turning Down Water for Air. He is another in a recent line of combining acoustic folk with laptop electronica. This Sweet Love has been remixed (if anything, extended) on a recent Kitsune compilation and should ring familiar. No Pins Allowed has been likened to Justice and Left Handed Girl to Aphex Twin, and at times the sound flits to that not unlike New Order. But it's no bad deal. James Yuill has tried and succeeded at combining two musical movements together into what can only be described as a chilled-out foot-tapping pulsing experience through a sorrowed musician's imagination.
